Climate change and vulnerability of regional territories. Accompanying a federative project: platform for value added services

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) supports world regions to anticipate the effects of climate change. ClimSAT provides information and analysis from satellite imagery, supports the analysis of the vulnerability of areas and assists them in developing their Integrated Territorial Climate Plan. The expertise provided involves the shaping of ideas within a normalised "draft document," based on the formats of concerned financial donors (European Space Agency, European Commission, CNES). The expected role is that of an executive secretary who: leads a group that generates ideas, ensures that the final project is federative and has the capacity to mobilise, proposes, following all the discussions, a framework programme and prepares a draft document in accordance with the requirements and standards of the financial partners.

Engineering assistance – Implementation of a Geographical Information System

Assistance in the implementation of the Geographic Information System for Total Infrastructures Gaz de France, covering its entire transport network of 5 000 kms (TIGF) The mission started in 2007 and includes the analysis of requirements, the drafting of ToR for the procurement of the system, support in the evaluation process and the follow-up of implementation and training. Specific attention has also been made to the data model and compliance with international standards - such as PODS - in relation to Pipeline Integrity Management tools (PIMS).

Feasibility study for the CEMER project – Euro-Mediterranean Project for the Environment and Risks

TBS: Installation of a Innovating Service of Remote Monitoring of Goods and people with Satellite

Demonstration of the operational and cost effectiveness of an innovative service using the return link offered by satellite connections initially designed for interactive television, in order to propose possibilities and new offers as regards the remote surveillance of goods and people. MAPEA (Permanent on-line access to physico-chemical data of the Adour estuary water):

DEVLOC - Development of integrated Land Use databases, indicators and collaborative tools for decision making in the field of urbanism and land planning.

AETS leads the R&D project DEVLOC with the final goal to develop a fully operational set of products and services addressing urban planners and decision takers needs for information and tools supporting territorial planning. Three representative users are directly involved all along the project duration: Bordeaux urbanism agency (representing 660,000 inhabitants) The community of agglomeration of Castres-Mazamet (85,000 inhabitants) The agglomeration of Pau-Pyrnes (150,000 inhabitants)

GRailChem: Intelligent ICT System and Platform for improving and securing Railway-based Transportation of Chemical Goods Feasibility Study

The purpose of GRailChem (Green Rail Freight Transport for Chemical Goods) project study is to verify the technical feasibility of the proposed service platform concept. The main objectives of the study consisted in the understanding of the needs and requirements of all players in railway-based transportation; the realization of a powerful, open and adaptable I&C platform and the development of a methodology covering organizational measures and tools.

Low Cost Remote Surveillance & Metering Satellite Services Feasibility Study

The aim of this project consisted in the realization of a feasibility study of low cost remote surveillance satellite system/service. AETS was in charge to coordinate the activities related to the system definition: identification and analysis of suitable satellite system architectures, definition of the technical characteristics of the low rate satellite return channel and assessment of the overall cost of the end-to-end system infrastructure promising solutions.
